On November 2, at 7pm Queens World will honor four of this year’s five Spirit of Queens Honorees: Taryn Sacramone, Executive Director of Queens Theatre and the Chair of the Cultural Institutions Group; Sade Lythcott, Chief Executive Officer of the National Black Theatre and Chair of the Coalition of Theatres of Color; Lucy Sexton, Executive Director of New Yorkers for Culture & Arts), Ellen Kodadek, Executive and Artistic Director of Flushing Town Hall.
These remarkable women will be recognized for their work before, during, and after the lockdown including establishing virtual spaces for cultural institutions and creatives to gather online, share resources, and support each other as we plunged into a pandemic.
The presentation will be followed by a curated block of short films called Remarkable Women: Six short films about women being who they are. The films are:
