The First Amendment protects our right to assemble. The Listening Tour asks what happens when we do. Queens World and Queens Memory invite you to gather over lunch, participate in a Queens World Table Lab™ and celebrate our right to gather, speak, listen, share stories and be part of the community record.

Inspired by the Queens World Listening Tour, this program creates space to consider what happens after a story is told.  A Queens World Table Lab™ is a signature Queens World format that is part conversation, part creative experiment, and part community gathering. Each table is anchored by Table Catalysts™, including artists, community organizations, thought shapers and others who help get the conversation started. Together, we’ll explore questions about hope and resilience, imagine what public art could look like if money were no object, consider how stories and memories can survive for generations, and think about what we want people in the future to know about who we were and what mattered to us.

The Queens World Listening Tour is a storytelling initiative about hope and resilience. Its interviews are preserved as part of the Queens Memory Collection at Queens Public Library’s Digital Archives, connecting individual voices to the larger history of Queens.

Come gather. Come listen. Come add your voice.
