Director Statement

I make films by and for people that inspire me the most. I strive to feature the people and places that we don’t get to see or hear on screen, with an emphasis on displaced youth, marginalized communities, and the Asian American experience. My style of cinema employs a spiritual approach to colorful, high-energy, slow cinema. I try to incorporate as much tenderness and freedom within my work. I think precision is brutal and so is hope; somewhere in this sweet spot— magic is found!
