10th Annual Queens World Film Festival Opening Night at the MUSEUM OF THE MOVING IMAGE: ALMOST!

Traditionally, Queens World includes a well-attended multi-day annual film festival and 2020, our 10th Anniversary year, was looking like it was going to satisfy everyone’s expectations of another 11 days of sold out screenings, exciting gatherings, thematic programming, parties, panels and more.

Our opening night was set for March 19 and we were ready to gather at the Museum of the Moving Image to kick off our festival season with an opening night program sponsored by Investors Bank featuring a tribute to our 2020 Spirit of Queens Honoree, Ray Romano, a live performance by Digital Accordion Artist Michael Soloway and an exceptional selection of short films curated to give our guests a taste of what was to come during the 10th Annual Queens World Film Festival. The after-party was prepped and appropriately themed ‘On Set With Queens World’.Food had been ordered. We were ready.

On March 16, New York City ordered all cultural institutions to close. We did open on March 19 – on time and on line, but that is a different story.

Please take a look at what our opening night program would have been:
