This isn’t a protest. It is a celebration!
WATCH THIS! is a live experience combining film, history, spoken word, audience participation, and dance.
We’ll begin with a reading of the 1st Amendment by George Emilio Sanchez and then revisit the historic struggle for religious freedom right here in Queens, then three short films bring us into the present. Katha Cato takes on the First Amendment by the numbers, and the audience will play ‘Fun with Banned Books!’ A short doc shows us what happens when artists are silenced and an original dance performance brings the physical toll of holding onto our freedoms into the room.
Tickets: $15

He has been awarded two NYFA Fellowships and was named the inaugural recipient of The MacDowell’s Keith Haring Artist Fellowship in 2021. He was a Fulbright Scholar to Peru in 1994.
