Director Statement

From childhood, I have grown up hearing that the people who live in slums and stations are from the wicked side of the world. Stealing, robbing, drug dealing, there are no crimes that they are not involved with. Poverty is their oldest friend. I grew up having a negative opinion about them in my mind.

After growing up, I regularly had to go to the Railway Station for travelling. I used to wait for the train at the platform. While waiting, I used to look at the station and the people around it with great curiosity. I started having conversations with one or two of them, and even ended up having beautiful bonds with some of them. Gradually, I started to like these people more and more. I came to see outside of that circle of just poverty and crime. I got in touch with their own stories of love, lust, greed, envy. I realized that when it comes to our basic desires, we’re all the same. In the end, we are all just human. I wanted to share this realization of mine with everyone. This is how I came to make ‘Adim The Instinct’.
