Synopsis

Charlie’s Story lets us into the world of Charlie, a teen with autism, as seen through his sister and father. As a kid, Charlie and his sister, Kate, did everything together. He always had a close relationship with his siblings. He was a quiet child, leading the family to the discovery of his autism. He started at a special needs school, but doesn’t always get the help he needs. He worries that his opportunities for the future are sparse and that he’ll need to live with his parents for the rest of his life. In the end, he reflects on growing up in his speech to the graduating class below him. His speech closes to applause and he walks back to his seat with a proud smile.
