Keenan Gray

Queens World Film Festival Alumni Success Story

Other Work:

Keenan’s film Sorta Kinda True screened at the 2024 Queens World Film Festival.

New Film Headed to France

After screening his film Sorta Kinda True at QWFF in 2024, Keenan decided it was time to make another movie — so he did. He collaborated with the Saturday Night Live cinematographer and several other SNL colleagues to create a dark comedy about an Uber driver who gets roped into an ill-fated rescue mission by his passenger. The film is titled Seedless.

Seedless went on to win Best Director at the New York Film Awards and was named a Finalist at Flickers’ Rhode Island International Film Festival. To close out its festival run, the film is now heading to France to screen at the RED Movie Awards, where it is also in competition for Best Director.

After a successful festival run, Keenan is moving on to his next project.

Stay tuned — it’s coming very soon.

Keenan Gray: NEW SHORT FILM!

I recently completed my latest short film, Seedless, a darkly comedic thriller that explores the unseen impact strangers have on our lives—whether we like it or not. The story follows an Uber driver whose routine night spirals into chaos when his unhinged passenger, convinced his sister has been kidnapped, drags him into a reckless and ill-fated rescue mission.

I had the opportunity to collaborate with Andy Kugler, the cinematographer for Saturday Night Live, to bring this story to life with a striking, immersive visual style. After premiering the film at a private screening with 55 fellow filmmakers, friends, and supporters, I’m now setting off on the festival circuit, hoping to connect with other storytellers and find Seedless a home among today’s most exciting short films.
