Young Filmmakers Program

Queens World Filmmaker Mentors immerse students in film production experiences, taking them from pitch to production as they rotate through on-set positions and fully participate in the collaborative nature of film-making. Students explore their own character while contributing to something bigger than themselves: a finished short film. Completed films are featured at our popular Kid’s Corner during our annual film festival. 

Our 2022 Filmmaker Mentors Don Cato, Richard Calvache, Alex Ortiz, Mazel Kaykova and Katha Cato worked with students at PS 69, CommonPoint Queens and the Buckley School to facilitate video production projects that were shared with their school communities.
