Quincey Charles
Festival Associate
I am Quincey Charles, an aspiring animator, illustrator, and editor with a passion for storytelling through visual art. Born in New York and raised in Virginia, I developed a deep interest in animation and graphic design, refining my skills in drawing, editing, and filmmaking.
Currently, I am pursuing an Associate in Science degree in Animation and Motion Graphics at Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC). Through courses like “Intro to 2D Animation” and “Motion Graphics I,” I have gained hands-on experience with Adobe Animate, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Premier Pro, Clip Studio Paint, Blender, and Cinema 4D. I am also a recipient of the Out-in-Two Academic Scholarship and participated in a study abroad program in Rabat, Morocco.
Professionally, I have built my expertise through internships such as BMCC’s Career-Connected Learning Internship, where I contributed to an animated commercial. At The Animation Project (TAP), I mentored children in storytelling and animation, and through ReelWorks MediaMKRS, I gained valuable industry insights and organizational tasks for fine art production.
Beyond animation, I enjoy gaming, poetry, painting, graphic novels, and cooking, all of which inspire my creative work. My strengths are being organized, cooperative, detail-oriented, and creative, complementing my technical skills in animation, editing, character design, and video and audio editing.
With patience and perseverance as my guiding principles, I aim to further my education and ultimately work at a leading animation studio where I can bring unique stories to life through my art and innovative imagination. Being in the Queens World Film Festival organization is an amazing opportunity to show my skills and who I am to everyone.
