The Queens World Listening Tour

What began on September 11, 2021, as a pandemic activity for Festival Associates and neighborhood youth has grown into a living archive of community voice.

Each year, The Listening Tour expands outward, reaching partners from classrooms to organizations like  The Fortune Society   and cultural figures like  Mr. and Mrs. Met.  It also expands inward, as segments are produced by Queens World Festival Associates, many from  ReelWorks/MediaMKRS, and guided by Queens World Filmmaker Mentors.

Thanks to the generous support of  Resorts World Gives and the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA), each conversation is preserved through archival handoff to the  Queens Memory Project at the Queens Public Library  The Listening Tour documents hope and resilience while creating space for people to be seen, heard, and remembered. Listening is how a stronger community is stitched together.
