STEVIE LATHAM

Poet

I grew up in a small Southern Tier town, hitchhiked to NYC with my punk band in the 70s, traveled the South, started a family and an East Village restaurant – Old Devil Moon. I managed a rock band, crusaded to save a Jersey green oasis, and taught in Harlem. I perform spoken word and on static trapeze. I adore my kids.

When inside, I renovate and create stuff. Natheless, I’m happiest in the Adirondacks’ outside – kayaking, skating, xc skiing, hiking, gardening, and swimming underwater.

Statement

As a queer trans person, I’ve been living in a world of support and celebration I never thought possible. Of course, some people would erase us. Blaming us for ruining girl’s sports and losing elections.

That said –

No matter what, we will shine our light.
