Director
Jack Baxter is a writer, director, producer and freelance journalist from New York City. He produced the controversial and critically acclaimed 1995 documentary “Brother Minister: The Assassination of Malcolm X.” Mr. Baxter and his wife, Executive Producer Fran Strauss-Baxter, are the producers of the award-winning documentary, “Blues by The Beach” (2004). Jack is the co-author of the graphic novel, “Mike’s Place: A True Story of Love, Blues, and Terror in Tel Aviv” (2015) published by Macmillan.
Filmmaker’s Note
One of the cardinal rules of journalism is “Report the story – don’t become part of it.” But after surviving the Mike’s Place suicide bombing and completing our documentary BLUES BY THE BEACH, that rule was meant to be broken. This time out, Joshua Faudem and I were aiming to look at the bigger picture of International Terrorism and tell our own story in the process. At least, that was the plan. What happened was THE LAST SERMON, which I am proud to submit.
