Director
Zeljko Mirkovic, director and producer. His last position was Professor of Film and Digital Media in the USA. The founder and owner of Optimistic Film production company since 2007. He graduated from the Belgrade Academy of Arts and got his master’s degree at the Bournemouth University Media School, UK. Currently he is completing his PhD thesis „Documentary Film and War“ at the Belgrade Faculty of Media and Communications. Zeljko Mirkovic has won 58 international awards. Feature documentary Tesla Nation (2018) is a 2020 official Academy Awards candidate. Feature documentary The Second Meeting (2013) was a 2014 official Academy Awards candidate.

Tesla Nation is a creative feature documentary about the people of Serbian descent who have been immigrating to the USA for more than 200 years and making their mark on the history of Serbia and the USA with their work and success in various fields. It is a story about a nation that made a global mark through its people. A journey through the past and present of a nation. In search of bonding and future.
