Synopsis
Here Lies Beatrice is the story of a mother’s assumed last day alive, in which she reacts to post-menopausal bleeding by preparing her own burial.

Director
Sam LaBella is a 21 year old filmmaker from Virginia. She is currently based in Brooklyn and is most inspired by the films of John Cassavetes, Joanna Hogg, and Agnes Varda. The devil is working hard but Sam is working harder.

Filmmaker’s Note

This film stems from the idea that it is often most difficult to be vulnerable to those who are closest to you. From the notion that preserving the feelings of others can do harm for oneself. From the unique connection between mother and daughter.
