The Queens World Film Festival, New York Women in Film and Television, Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment, The Gaia Zine and Epicenter – NY proudly announce PASSION in ACTION, a day-long mentoring event to bring high school and college students together with Passionate Professionals in the Arts, Sciences, Finance, Women’s Sports, Nonprofit Sectors and More.

The morning session of this day long event will concentrate on developing personal professionalism related to the arts including developing a mission statement, compiling ideas on how to promote your work and creating your back pocket networking tool kit. The afternoon is devoted to a round robin speed networking event so that all attendees have the opportunity to spend 30 minutes with 3 different Passionate Professionals.

Clara Francesca, is an award-winning artist, director, and speech coach with a passion for unlocking the individual’s authentic heart-voice-connection: investigating co-existence in a nuanced world. Their work spans from avant-garde live immersive poetry recitations to commercial voice overs on mainstream TV. Clara holds a BA in Laws & Biomedical Sciences from Monash University, has meditatively sung at the NYC Hayden Planetarium, is a member of NYC’s SITI Company’s Inaugural Conservatory Alumni, and performs game-theory-performances with TidalFire at the California Academy of Sciences Dome Shows. https://www.clarafrancesca.com/

What is a personal character trait that you have leaned on in your career?

Networking queen, positive confusion, finding ways to reduce anxiety in communication and dialing down the inner mind judgment chatter through play and ease and then sharing intellectual ideas to spark joy.

What is your best advice for young creatives who are thinking about college?

Select one element you want to explore and then let the flow navigate for you where it might go whilst harnessing wisdom that is around you. Learn when to receive feedback and incorporate it and learn when to receive feedback and not incorporate it.

What is your best advice for young creatives who are beginning their careers?

Be as present as possible with what your practice is alongside being aware as to what it is not. Do do this research, consume material, reflect on material, practice communicating about material.
