About this Event:

What does it really take to get into the room, and once you’re there, how do you make it count?

Join Queens World Film Festival Founding Executive Director Katha Cato for a dynamic, no-fluff, 90-minute working session designed for artists of all disciplines. We’ll break it down together: how to submit your work, apply for opportunities, and navigate the systems that open doors. Then we go further into what it actually means to be in the room: how to show up, collaborate, contribute, and make yourself an essential part of the experience.

And finally, the part most people miss, how to stay in the room even after you’ve left it. How do you follow up, build relationships, and become the kind of artist every curator, producer, and collaborator wants to work with again?

This is interactive, honest, and rooted in real-world experience and perfect for artists of any medium. Expect to participate, reflect, and leave with tangible strategies you can use immediately, plus a renewed sense of how to move through creative spaces with confidence, generosity, and impact.
