Synopsis
A martial arts short film inspired by the 1971 film A Touch of Zen, Once Upon a Time in the Bamboo weaves together Chinese history and mysticism told from a modern boy’s imaginative perspective.

Director Biography
Peilin Kuo is an award-winning filmmaker born and raised in Taiwan. After graduating with a degree in theater, Peilin directed, edited, produced music videos, commercial spots, and television in Taipei. Peilin is now a New York-based filmmaker.
After winning the “Someone to Watch” award from CineWomen NY, Peilin went on to win awards at festivals including Mexico International Film Festival, Asians on Film Festival, and WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival. Peilin’s films have been screened at numerous film festivals such as Sundance Film Festival, the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival, Asian American International Film Festival, among other festivals.
