Director Statement
Confidant was inspired by a friend’s grief over the loss of his mother, with whom he had shared an apartment within her later years. I had wanted to work with Eve Austin and Eddie McGee and put this tale together to tell the story of Momma Ragu with friends that I love.
I hope it touches people.

Debra Markowitz is a multi-award-winning writer, director, and producer.
She is the author of the Karmic Wind Trilogy (Naked in the Rain, Sarah and Caleb, and Karmic Wind). She also has written award-winning screenplays, By Blood and Couple of Guys. Her films have won multiple awards in categories such as Best Story, Best Script, Best Director, Best Film, etc.
