Synopsis
In Nanny Cam, a single mother’s desire to return to the workforce is thwarted by her inability to find suitable childcare for her 18 month old daughter.
Written and directed by Hope Olaidé Wilson, Nanny Cam is a chapter within Owls & Echoes, an award-winning bite-sized anthology of stand-alone short films exploring everyday scenarios and moral dilemmas with a darkly comic twist.

Director Statement
My creative inclinations lean toward genre-based storytelling in the realms of science fiction, horror, dark comedy, and fantasy. Like most creative storytellers, I am driven by a desire to explore themes that deeply resonate with me. However, I am also very much motivated by an awareness that as long as it remains a novelty for women of colour to participate in many mainstream or certain niche realms there remains much work to be done.
Director Biography
Hope Olaidé Wilson is a filmmaker, performer and multimedia producer. She is a ‘Made in NY’ Media Center Incubator Fellowship recipient and founder of Indigo Veil Media. Hope wrote, directed and produced Owls & Echoes, an anthology comprised of multiple short films/vignettes selected for the IFP Screen Forward Labs. She was the recipient of the inaugural Jack Jones Literary Arts ‘Octavia Butler Fellowship’ and a finalist for the Stowe Story Labs/Tangerine Entertainment Screenwriting Fellowship.
Trained at the London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art, her screen credits include Spenser Confidential (NETFLIX/Film 44), Solace (Tribeca Film Institute All Access Program), The Affair (Showtime), The Price (Samuel Goldwyn Films/2017 SXSW), I Can Do Bad All By Myself (Lionsgate), The Fosters (FreeForm), and The Last Ship (TNT).
