Queens Filmmakers Mike and Allison Hayhurst Wrap Second Feature

Queens World Film Festival alumni Mike Hayhurst and Allison Moy Hayhurst are back behind the camera with their second feature film, Turns Out, It’s the Apocalypse… we think?, which has officially wrapped production and is now in post-production.

The Queens-based filmmaking duo previously brought their feature And Through The Portal We Go to the Queens World Film Festival in 2025. Their latest project continues their work in independent filmmaking while expanding their creative collaborations.

Turns Out, It’s the Apocalypse… we think? marks their first collaboration with writer-actors Natalie Lynch and Tara Jayn. The pair co-wrote the comedy and also star in the film, which follows two best friends trying to figure out if surviving the end of the world or each other is harder?

Produced by Allison Moy Hayhurst and directed by Mike Hayhurst, the film represents the team’s second feature-length project and continues their growing body of independent work developed from their home base in Astoria.
