The Listening Tour 2021

On September 11, 2021, three Festival Associates and three young people from our community sat down to interview each other about hope and resilience. They rotated through on set roles and one participant edited the footage. The result, The Van-Dien Family, moved us deeply and inspired us to invite others to share their stories.

By the end of the year, we had recorded 23 subjects and created 7 short compilations. We also established a partnership with Queens Memory Project at the Queens Public Library, ensuring these stories would be preserved as part of the historical record of how our communities endured and supported each other during the pandemic.
