Gy Mirano is a New York actress, voice-over artist, and arts advocate. Her artistic body of work spans from voice and on-camera performances in film, TV, documentaries, book narrations, and theater to spoken-word performances.
Gy has collaborated with actors, directors, filmmakers, writers, poets, journalists, diplomats, and artists. Born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina, she made her home in her adopted country the USA, making her a multi-ethnic artist and cultural ambassador here. Her cultural initiatives and performances have been presented at the Americas Society, Poets House, New York Botanical Garden, and Cervantes Institute.
Gy has been a board member and juror at CUNY’s The American Film Festival of New York since its inception. As a professional who excels in her field, and as a well-established actors’ advocate, she was invited to become a teaching artist at the SAG-AFTRA Foundation.
An activist in media labor relations, Gy has served in SAG-AFTRA’s national committees advocating for actors, and is dedicated to promoting and protecting artists’ work, as well as improving their working conditions.
Gy’s work as a performer together with her advocacy of Latin American arts and culture in the United States was recognized with her winning the Gabriela Mistral, Julia de Burgos, Frida Kahlo Award presented by the Galo Plaza International Committee.
Gy is honored once again to be a juror at the extraordinary Queens World Film Festival.
