Director Statement
This short is semi-autobiographical and it’s a short I really didn’t want to make but I feel so happy knowing I did. I didn’t want to touch the subject matter of sex and was honestly bored by it in things I watched. However, it wasn’t until I had a story to share that I felt compelled to make a short about sex. A big reason why I wanted to make it was to put out a very honest take about what a lot of people’s first time can look like and how a woman in her mid-20’s has a wildly different perspective and experience from a teenager. I don’t think it’s a view we see enough of and that can be very isolating for people who have vastly different sexual experiences. It’s for the wallflowers out there to feel like their not alone and that their not weird for being a wallflower; for waiting and taking their time.
