Square Peg in a Black Hole
Synopsis
Alma, a theater assistant in her mid-30s, is having a panic attack in the bathroom. She hears an explosion coming from the neighboring cubicle and finds that a black hole has formed in the toilet bowl. Entranced by the pull of the swirling void, she reaches inside and is transported into several vignettes about the meaning of life.

Director Biography
Ansgar Beck was born in Koblenz, Germany in 1993 at the tender age of zero. Some time later (2013 to 2019), he worked for the film production company Schall&Rauch, mainly as an editor. Since 2020, he has worked as a freelance media designer, video artist and as an assistant director for many fiction film productions. During that time, he also directed several short films and currently studies directing at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg in Ludwigsburg, Germany.
Ansgar Beck wurde 1993 im zarten Alter von null Jahren geboren und war etwas später (2013 bis 2019) bei der Filmproduktion Schall&Rauch hauptsächlich als Editor tätig. Seit 2020 ist er selbstständiger Mediengestalter Bild/Ton, Videokünstler und arbeitet als Regieassistent bei zahlreichen Produktionen im Spielfilmbereich. Parallel dazu führte er Regie in diversen Kurzfilmen und studiert seit 2023 Szenische Regie an der Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg.
